Welcome

Return to Writing

MoBY-DiCK and Melville's Anti-Slavery Allegory

My book was published by Pagrave Macmillan in 2017. UC Irvine Distinguished Professor J. Hillis Miller wrote the Forward. Since publication, it has been purchased by over 700 libraries around the world -- including UC Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, MIT, and Oxford. It can be purchased on Amazon or other store websites.

Read the Amazing Peer Review

Palgrave Macmillan peer review.

In order for Palgrave to accept and publish my book, they first had to send it out for peer review. That is, they sent my manuscript to a university professor who I did not know and who did not know me (names were left off).  Back then the book had a different title (Black Blood:  Moby-Dick and the Fugitive Slave Hunt), and once the book was accepted, the title was changed.
